Overview
Our leading manufacturing client in Etobicoke is seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor to oversee packaging operations and ensure smooth, efficient production within the facility. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with a background in manufacturing and packaging, looking to contribute to the continuous improvement and operational success of a dynamic production team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Packaging Operations: Supervise the packaging process, ensuring accurate and efficient operation of machinery such as fillers, sealers, labelers, and conveyors.
- Quality Control: Perform thorough inspections of packaging materials and final products to ensure they meet established quality standards, including proper seals, labels, and overall presentation.
- Process Optimization: Identify areas for improvement in packaging processes, including reducing downtime, improving throughput, and enhancing overall efficiency. Work closely with engineers and technicians to implement improvements.
- Performance Monitoring: Analyze packaging line data to identify and resolve issues that may cause bottlenecks, minimize waste, and increase productivity.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Partner with various departments to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and support ongoing improvements to operations.
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications or vocational training in packaging or manufacturing is a plus).
- Experience: Previous experience in a packaging or production role within a manufacturing setting.
- Packaging Knowledge: In-depth understanding of packaging machinery and techniques, including equipment like vertical form-fillers, labelers, gas mixers, metal detectors, and case sealers.
- Quality Assurance: Familiarity with quality control procedures, including how to inspect materials and finished products to meet packaging standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Basic troubleshooting and maintenance skills for packaging machinery.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow specific packaging guidelines and ensure accurate product presentation.
- Other Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, ability to work under pressure, and a focus on continuous improvement.
Additional Information:
