Code of Conduct Investigator

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced investigator to provide services related to a new Code of Conduct for Municipal Officials in Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will have a strong background in investigation and reporting, with expertise in areas such as arbitration, negotiation, procedural fairness, natural justice, human resources, and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and understand the Standard Code of Conduct and the Entity's final implemented version of the Code
  • Compare complaints to the standards in the Code to determine which standards have been violated
  • Complete investigations and provide reports within the timelines of the Code and any extensions granted
  • Establish and meet timelines, notify relevant parties, and maintain confidentiality during and after the process
  • Present reports, including suggested sanctions, in accordance with the Code
  • Investigate and report in a manner that is consistent with the Code and demonstrates fairness
  • Maintain the showroom's visual standards and organization.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and goals.

Requirements

  • Knowledge, skills, and expertise in investigation and investigative techniques, arbitration, negotiation, procedural fairness, natural justice, human resources, and dispute resolution
  • Ability to provide a work plan indicating how you will structure your working relationship with Entities, including handling administration of complaints, confidentiality, report writing, and managing cost
  • Three examples of similar services provided, with a preference for one example involving human resources
  • Letters of reference from clients who have obtained similar services in the last five years (optional)
Capacity:
  • Ability to accommodate a minimum of 49 municipalities and 21 villages, with a clear indication of any constraints on capacity due to the number of complaints.
